 FF VII - best settings

Post FF VII - best settings
Hey guys,

as all the time I only wanna play FF VII and VIII with my Xperia X1 and FPSEce 0.10.
But after the battles the experience and the money-screen is still very slow. And sometimes the in-game-screen is like a fast slide-show... When battles are starting it sometimes is veeeeeery slow.
There is a speed improvement since 0.96, but I guess I wouldn't play it very often if it's not running fluently.
And FF VII sound is still unuseable...

It seems not to be a problem of CPU-speed... When I turn game-music off, it seems to be little faster... and I got no problems listening to music in the background with TCPMP or any other mediaplayer. So what could I try to get gfx faster and sound working properly?

Any ideas?

I just posted in the compatibility thread after some testing, but here is my whole ini file. I would copy everything but my key mappings since I have a TP2. This is with audio off though. FF VII has some sound issues with the emulator, it plays OK but slow due to unable to rip to MP3 tracks and not full framerate all the time.

may I use this for Xperia X1?
I'm not sure if "LastGPU=gpusoftdx.dll" works... I've read about X1 is not supporting DirectX right now?!

The TP2 can't use DirectX either. The driver it uses is based off of the GFXDRV=

which you would want to customize for you screen resolution.

You can go to the bottom of the first post on my Xperia thread. I've posted the ini I use, and all I play right now is FFVII.
With the PAL (max 50fps), the speeds I get are:
Towns, etc. - 45-50
World Map - 25-30 (45-50 with frameskip=5)
Battle - 20-30 (40-50 with frameskip=5)

The only problem with using frameskip is the disappearing cursor during battle. However, pressing select to bring up the info bar displays the targets' (including party members) names.

Hi all

I ve got a problem with this perfect game - I have X10 mini pro, and had no problem in Midgar. But now I am out on world map, but I have only black screen, no world... Battles are going well (on world map) but after battle i have again only black screen. Thanx
