Hello. I have Pipo M9 Tablet with 1280*800 Cortex-A9 Quad Core Rockchip RK3188 1.8GHz, Mali-400 MP4. I experince huge lags in OpenGL mode in Metal Gear Solid during scenes or actions where presents water. For example - game intro until the moment, where scene changes to inside submarine with commander or at the beginning of the game, when Snake appear from water or if you decide to go for Ration under the water. There is huge slideshow. All settings are default, I just changed rendering to OpenGL Mode. Thanks in advance.

i had the same very low fps on metalgearsolid around 6fps in the intro water cutsence and same collecting ration under water on galaxy note 2 mali400.
but on galaxy note 3 sm n9005 im getting around 40fps
so its gpu restrictions. But mali400 give much better performance than adreno 330. I get around 32fps on tekken 3 with gnote 3 adreno330. While mali400 gnote 2 was 54-58-60fps.

Thanks for sharing you experience. Just for testing pusrpose I tried OpenGL mode in ePSXe - and found they solved this trouble simply by not diplaying water, showing only black screen with radar :) Overall I'm very happy. Thank You for great work! It was my first purchase in Google Play, especially for MGS and OpenGL!

So, I should enable frameskip only during these scenes - Thank you!

Found that weird thing happen on every transparent textures, for example Ninja with Stealth, Psycho Mantis fight. Seems to be, Mali 400 does not have power to handle this. Now I'am understand why ePSXe developers replaced water and stealth textures with black, I thought it was a bug. Seems to be that OpenGL rendering on fpse a lillte bit better than ePSXe anyway.

Tried latest update and

Still not detecting the right analog stick on my jxd s5110b
Still got sound going to fast on space hulk

Apart from that its all good. Opengl seems quicker butin game fonts seem blurred

To anyone with an Adreno 320/330 gpu.

Does changing resolution (for example to 1280x720 or 960x540) with this app help increasing performance?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... on_changer

PS: You may have to lower dpi value based on the resolution you are using.

I tried that on my adreno 330 by lowering it to gnote 2 720p resolution.
But sadly no fps increase. Thanks anyway carter07

Umh so maybe it's not the gpu itself that causes bad perf, we should rule out if the problem is the s800 cpu (not used properly?).

Try installing this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... rlay&hl=it

For example try tekken 3 and see if the OSD reports cpu is running at max freq (2.3ghz) and the cpu usage is >25-30%.

Note 3 has got 4 cores so 25% cpu usage in the osd means fpse is maxing out 1 core, fpse in Opengl only uses 1 thread if I remember well.
