Post Htc touch pro - games are really slow
Hey i wanted to play some games on my phone : Spyro the dragon, Crash Bandicoot 2 and Tekken 3. All these games work very slow , increasing frameskip doesnt really help because i have lags.
Can someone explain me what to do to make games work faster and smoother. I am total computer noob so i need help step by step.

I believe Touch Pro has a 500 MHz CPU and around 200 mb RAM. You can't run PSX games fullspeed with those specs. Though there is the DMA code currently in making, that should deliver a performance boost. There is nothing you can do. Just wait.

Whatevar is right. dont expect games to run fullspeed. But here are some tips you can try to get boost.
1. Set right Frameskip value (in some games this is the best thing)
2. Use the best GFXDRV for your device (cycle throught them and restart everytime to see the results)
3. Disable sound
4. Play in portrait mode (fullscreen=off)
5. Shut down everything else before running FPSEce
6. Overclock your CPU, The processor in TP should go as far aso 800MHz or so I heard
7. set turbo in FPSEce for your games
8. Play lite games (Tekken 3 is second slwoest game, you wont get this running)
9. Try compressing your games with PocketISO and ripping XDA sounds, if you are using compressed also try it wiht uncompressed (some games are faster compressed some are not)

7. And again , how to do it?
8. Any instances of these games?

2. How to do it?
In SDcard\Program Files\FpseCE there is a file fpse.ini. Right click -> open with -> notepad. Find the line GFXDRV= [number] (it should be at the bottom of [Pocket PC] section, ctrl+f if you can't find it) and change the default number to any other between 1-5.

3. Just reduce volume level?
No, I think you have to disable it in the fpse.ini file, but I don't know which line it is. Maybe something like Sound= [number]?

6. Again how to do it?
Google [your phone] + overclock

7. And again , how to do it?
Open FpseCE, go to settings and disable FullScreen. Go back, switch to landscape, tap the black side of the screen, tap the settings button, tap the button that looks like a fast forward symbol.

8. Any instances of these games?
I don't know what he meant by Lite games, but i guess he meant that some games, like Tekken3, CMR 02 and some others can't be played full-speed even on high end devices...yet.

9. Sorry , again how to rip and compress these games?
He said it all. Using PocketISO

Half of these questions could've been answered by using google. Don't have to be a PC specialist.

Oh Well I thought that reducing main volume to zero will do the trick, but I'm not sure as I have high-end device

Exactly, some games takes heavy requirements and are hard to emulate (Tekken 3, Diablo) and some are quite easy to run, so those.

Please, Click on the "Complete how to guide" in my signature to get info on how to use PocketISO.

Damn straight. Thats why we (fans of FPSEce) wrote the Complete how to Guide. Reading it is so much less work than writing it (trust me).

Ehh there is one problem, dunno why but my Fpsece doesnt have any options. All i can do is set keys, change pad(normal, analog, gun), set frameskip and change volume level. Ah and ofc quit. My fpsece looks much different than on screenshots in "complete how to guide". I cant even set on-screen pad.

@edit
I have downloaded my fpsece from official site so its quite strange.

Dude, you have old version. To get new one you have to support FpseCE! It is worth it!

Number 7. Idk why, when i click this turbo i don't receive any FPS more :/

I am not going to support unless i see its worth it. I havent managed to play comfortably yet so i see no point in supporting.

Btw, in complete how to guide theres nothing about options being only for supporters.

Klooher: Wait what? Free version is just old. Only few things from what I said cant be done in free version. To become supporter you can just donate 2,5€ how could it not be worthy to have PSX games run on your PPC for 2,5€.
Also if you have free version just say so in the begining...

Also wtf man. Just look at the headlines. See that "(only avaible in supporter version)" thingie? Yep, we are clear.

Assasin: Well I still have old version, so when i press Turbo it gets me about 5fps and its work. In can vary in games. Also if I recall correctly there was new update where turbo stoped being feature and become normal engine so everything runs in turbo (or so I undrestood). But that update might be the new DMA code. I'm a little bit confused here =)
