NFS (network share on Ubuntu Server) permission denied in FPSe

Postby HoshiYamazaki » Sun May 05, 2019 7:00 pm

My server is running Ubuntu 18.04 with nfs-kernel-server running under systemd, but when I try to connect from Oculus GO (this is standalone VR system running Android) or from Xiaomi Mi6 I get error that there is no access to /home/hoshi/NFS dir (and everything should work fine).

My /etc/exports setup:
/home/hoshi/NFS *(rw,sync,no_subtree_check,no_root_squash)

I tried also RO options, I assume I don't need to setup certain IP to get access (so no *)? /home/hoshi/NFS belongs to hoshi group and user also there are drwxrwxr-x permissions.

I'm not familiar with NFS and there is small information how to configure it, thanks tho.

Ok so I found that there in /var/log/syslog is error:
```refused mount request from 192.168.1.213 for /home/hoshi/NFS (/home/hoshi/NFS): illegal port 50060```
So if you want to get working you must add (..insecure..) to /etc/exports mount option like that:
/home/hoshi/NFS *(rw,sync,no_subtree_check,no_root_squash,insecure)
And also don't put bins/iso in subdirs since it WON'T work.
I think thread is closed.
Hoshi
you should tried the new version of FPse i posted today, you can now add manual NFS mount point
Usefull if you just want to add a specific directory within a share and if your NFS server on another network
Hello, I am trying to connect my Android Devices (Android 9 or Android 8) to my Synology NAS. The NFS folder has been set up and is also visible, but the access is denied due to lack of authorization in the App. I have already tried different constellations ...
Are there any tips or guidance for setting up NFS access to the NAS?
Be sure your device and your nas are connected to the same networks, same vlan or not
Then on your synology create a nfs share v3
On your device run fpse then go to advanced settings and save then add nfs path
Then press search, if your nas is into a different vlan your device won t find it so press add path then add like that
nfs://193.168.1.12/volume1/PS/
Notice volume is down case zdn the slash at the end
After that you see a message fpse found xxx files
If your files are compress it will just add the Compressed file to the load game menu from fpse, then go to load game and press the double dot to go to parent directory and see the nfs share, select a compressed file then fpse does the rest
If your games are uncompressed fpse will just scan them and add their cover to main menu
