FPse crashes on trying to open - can't back up

Postby Les Zeppelin » Fri Sep 25, 2015 5:48 pm

Hi,

i'm having a bit of a problem!

The app was working perfectly last night when I was playing FFVIII. I was quick saving quite frequently because I was AP grinding and in that game you don't want to gain any experience so it's important to save between each battle. This means that I was quick saving and quick loading a touch more than I normally would.

As I was closing it down as usual I noticed that it said 'Unfortunately, FPse has stopped' as it closed down.
Having gone through the process of closing it I thought it was just wigging out a bit, so I didn't think anything of it.

I tried to open the app this morning and now it won't start at all and it immediately bucks me back out with the 'unfortunately' error message. I've tried restarting the phone but that didn't do anything. Sometimes I can very briefly see the screen which has a list of games but then I will get the error message. Most of the time I get frozen black screen for a few seconds and then it closes down with the error message.

I'm pretty sure uninstalling it and re-installing it will fix it, but because I can't open it up at all I can't back up my data via the app.

Does anyone know how I can go about keeping my save states and memory card data intact? I don't have a rooted phone or anything, it's just as it is.

32 hours of my life is hanging in the balance!
Any ideas of what I should do? Thanks!

if you use AUtosave, then uncheck it

the best is to reset settings from advnced menu then system

and restart FPse then retry

Cheers for the reply schtruck.

I can't open the app at all so what do you mean by 'advanced settings'?

Sorry, but confused by those instructions!
Thanks.

ok FPse uninstall won't delete your configs or game saves, so don't worry.

only stuff that can delete FPse working directory is a tool to clean automatically storages. you should take care with them.

I went for it and uninstalled and reinstalled.

Fpse is now working perfectly again and my saved game via the memory card is still there! Phew. 30 hours of my life saved!

The slightly bad thing is that my quick saves have gone so I have lost about 2 hours of grinding (the amount of time since I last saved properly ingame).

Is there a way of finding my old quick saves or are they gone for good now? Thanks!

You can clear datas of fpse application from your Android preferences and application section then press clear datas.

This won t erase datas like saves or configs files .
