Getting Games to work - .bin file

Postby AndrewT4ASU » Thu Feb 24, 2011 10:05 pm

So I dl'ed a ff7 disc 1 file, which came as a .rar file. I extracted it using winrar and it was then a large .bin.ecm file. I used an unecm.exe thing which turned the file into a simple .bin file on my desktop, then transfered it to my droid. FPSe recognizes the .bin file when I search for it on the load iso screen, but when I press it FPSe simply closes. If I log in, restart, then select the ff7 .bin file, it force closes every time. Could I get some help? Do I need to compress the .bin file or something?

Could someone give me a step by step way to get an iso to play? (or link me the thread).

Thanks again

Thanks for the help! I've got it working by doing most of the work on the desktop and transferring the .bin/cue files over afterwards

Just a note a .ecm file extension means it has been compressed further. When put in sites, they ecm compress it, then use WinRar to compress it further to save bandwidth.

You need to search for and download "unecm", it's easy enough to find.

If you want to get a .bin file from a .bin.ecm file then do the following:

1. Using WinRar, unpack your ISO. Which will give you the ".bin.ecm" file.
2. Search google for "Unecm" (Un-ECM). Download it.
3. Put it on your desktop, or wherever you want to.
4. Take your ".bin.ecm" file, and drag it onto "unecm.exe".
5. Wait.
6. Your file will be decompressed, giving the a file with just the ".bin" extention.
7. Transfer your ".bin" or ".iso" file to your phone, and open it with Fpse.
