Re: Fpse for Android Discussion/Feedback

4xHQ looks bloody awful imo it blurs everything to buggery.
FXAA looks the best but still looks like it's running in lower resolution compared to OpenGL, the other shaders have ringing http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ringing_artifacts#JPEG

Re: Fpse for Android Discussion/Feedback

I noticed the filtering in the experimental opengl plugin causes black outlining and other artifacts around masks this plugin is the same as pete's plugin I assume as changing the iFilterType = produces different results which I mentioned here before http://www.fpsece.net/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=38&a...

The Experimental opengl also has working screenfiltering, just noticed it now when switching the opengl plugins.

Re: Graphics - Dithering, Anti-Aliasing, up-scaling, shaders

I've also noticed the gpuload is lower in OpenGL HD compared to Software HD, probably the reason you can't get 60fps in heavy onscreen stuff in OpenGL without frameskip the gpu isn't being maxized to it's full potential. I used Trepn Profiler from Qualcomm to monitor it. https://developer.qualcomm.c...

Re: Graphics - Dithering, Anti-Aliasing, up-scaling, shaders

Maybe it'd better to be renamed to Native Resolution Textures then.

Re: Graphics - Dithering, Anti-Aliasing, up-scaling, shaders

Here's some side effects i've noticed. With screenfiltering the PLAYSTATION logo text becomes wavey. http://i.imgur.com/3OinP6r.png With boost hi res the PLAYSTATION logo text & over in-game text becomes choppy, you can notice it cutting out the middle of the E's, also causes pixelation around t...

Re: Fpse for Android Discussion/Feedback

How is dithering meant to help with low res 2d backgrounds or effects from being pixelated? all I notice it doing is stopping colour banding, it doesn't upscale anything to a higher res. Any by low res I mean games like Time Crisis, Deathrap Dungeon.
