I don't think OpenGL Soft Advanced operates at a higher resolution - Software HD Mode looks amazing with HQ4X mode with screenfiltering off (too blurry otherwise).

To be honest, if you plan on using FPse to play hardware-demanding games like Squaresoft games, I strongly suggest using High Definition Software with the HQ4X shader instead of OpenGL. Frankly, it's the only way you're going to be able to play Xenogears, and it looks amazing. I don't want to praise...

People don't want to try FPse, they want a fully functional version for absolutely free.

If you made a free version, they'd complain about ads.

You'd see a huge difference with Anti Aliasing on if your screen was 65". Not so much on something under 7". It's situations like these that exemplify how ridiculous QHD screens are on phones. They simply rob performance and battery life without making much of a difference at all. IMO it o...

I'm not sure what your familiarity is with those settings but antialiasing and 32-bit can slow you down considerably. Antialiasing in particular has been a resource hog on all computer systems for decades kind of thing.
